What do you guys think of buying a refurbished unit from eBay (I live in Canada so there is around $100-150 import charges)?

I'm still debating between i5 FHD or QHD, any tips? I like the fact that I would get more battery life out of the FHD. I also love the 15inch 3K display on my Clevo P650se, but the battery life is absolutely horrid.

    Thanks!

I bought mine refurbished from the Dell outlet http://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnline...s=22&l=en&s=dfh&dgc=IR&cid=258996&lid=4635114 It looks and functions as new. A benefit from getting it from the Dell outlet is that you can configure it with whatever warranty you like. Be aware that they offer coupon codes with great regularity. I got mine with a $350 off coupon. For a i5, 8GB, 256GB, QHD+, it cost me $1132 tax, shipping and all with a 3 year onsite warranty. I'm not sure what applies in Canada, but I bet they have a similar program.
    Edit
I have also bought used or refurbs from eBay with great success. Make sure it has the warranty you want and that the seller feedback is good and plentiful.

Buying a refurbished unit is fine. I've bought maybe 3 refurbished Dell laptops in my life, and they all worked out fine.

I think that a refurbished unit is actually better than a new unit, in terms of reliability. Because a refurbished unit actually has a technician do the repair, (re)assembly of the laptop, and testing. A new unit from the factory doesn't get a human technician to do testing before that new laptop gets shipped.

I also agree with c14rider. Dell Outlet is a better choice, since you are buying from a known seller. That seller on eBay probably looks fine, since he has such high feedback, high rate of positive comments, and a long history of selling similarly expensive items (computer gear). But the benefit of Dell Outlet is that you get to pay by credit card, and you get a return policy with it.

As for FHD vs QHD+... get the FHD model. It's a matte screen (the QHD+ is glossy touchscreen). The resolution is a much better fit for a 13" screen. And you get significantly better battery life (11 hours on FHD model vs 7 hours on QHD+ model).

They have a 35% off sale today only (30% tomorrow and 25% Thursday), but no 9350's currently in stock. When i bought mine, they would show up and then be gone a few minutes later as people bought them. You have to keep checking to catch one. They're updated constantly.

That would have been perfect, but I cannot buy from the US store which had some in stock moments ago. It only accepts US addresses on the checkout form.
