I was just wondering to those of you that have it, how do you feel about it? Reading through the forums it seems like people have been problems with it, but I'm assuming thats regular on the forums because people aren't going to make a threat just to say they are happy with what they have.
Basically I'm just wondering if you have it, how do you like it and do you wish you had done anything differently with your configurationor gotten a different laptop entirely.

Best laptop I've ever owned. The only thing I'd have wanted done with this laptop is an active heatsink on the southbridge so it didn't warm up the touchpad area as much.
-
My review:
1. It gets too damn hot, even if u just browse sites! Forget that you can use it as a "lap"top.
2. When I received my laptop, I never checked its wifi and LAN, because I was using USB modem, after 3 months I checked it and found that they dont work. I got my motherboard replaced but now the technician who came have made 3 scratches and laptop doesnt looks like factory packed now...
My advice, dont get it..At least get something which doesnt get too hot... -
The 9 cell battery, which props up the back of the laptop, completely eliminated any heat issues I had with the laptop! I would strongly recommend it if you can handle the extra weight (about .5 lbs).
-
Thanks for the replies, I was wondering if either of you use the 9-cell battery and if that has helped out. I'm planning on getting it, and after reading on the forums it seems to do the trick.

haha thanks for the reply, as soon as i posted my comment yours came up!

I had it for 2 days and I love it, no problems so far.
But I do regret not getting the tv tuner with it because with this amazing screen 1080p its a waste not having HD tv. I already have tv on my pc but i still would have paid upto100 bucks for the TV tuner(im thinking of buying an usb tv tuner).
also wish I could have gotten a 9cell battery with it and paid extra 300 bucks for the T9550 processor. -
The T9550 processor is nice and the SSD drive is sweet. I love the speed and the movies are great on the 1080P HD Screen. I don't really game at all, may start
I order another one today and I am going to list it for sale on ebay or here
T9550
500GB HD
Blu-ray Rom Drive
1920 X 1200 RBG hd screen
512MB 3670 Video Card
1 year warranty
Price between $1199-$1299
I have to take some pictures of it, i'll get this one tomorrow -
I finally bought it! I got it with the T9550, ATI 4670, the SSD, and 4GB of ram. Also ordered the additional 9-cell battery. Now I just can't wait to get it in.
I was wondering, how close to the estimated delivery date did yours come? I'm asking because they estimated 8/12 but I am leaving on the 11th for vacation! -

I actually switched from the T9550 to the P8700 bc the former got significantly hotter. Virtually no performance difference and the computer runs a lot cooler now.

wow I just got my 9-cell battery in today, I wasn't expecting it to come that fast. I'm hoping thats a good sign for getting my laptop sooner than the expected delivery date.

I love this laptop, best one I've owned. A lot of power in a relatively small (thin) package in my opinion, specs in my signature. You could max it out even more and get a T9900 at 3.06 GHz along with a 256 GB SSD drive, then it would be truly pimped out.
Does get kind of hot, I agree, I think it's because 1) it's thin and 2) there are metal parts on the casing, which act as heat sinks. These metal parts feel hot because they are REMOVING heat from the inside. Not too hot to touch though IMO. I have an external fan ($10 eBay, 3 fans) and it works marvelously. Gaming I do on the fan, everything else is fine on any surface but bed.
6-cell gives me 2-3 hours doing work, but hey, battery life wasn't my biggest concern when looking for a performance laptop. I didn't get a 9-cell since it stuck out >.>
I like the design a lot, from the edge-to-edge screen to the simplicity of the keyboard; there is no French keyboard so you don't get 1000 different symbols on 1 key, the shift and Enter keys are normal, and the backlight is awesome.
eSATA and powerShare USB port is king. 1080p screen is insane.
Basically, I can find nothing wrong with this laptop except the fact that it's hotter than the other 2 I've owned, mainly because it's thinner and has metal on the casing. It's a great deal, I'd really recommend it. -
the laptop does get a bit hot when you're playing games or watching movies but I got a notepal cooler and everything is fine. although you can't take the cooler with you outside because of its size and that could be a problem for some.
