Everything has been fine with my 4-week old dell until I decided to install iTunes. Now my DVD/CD ROM drive will not work. Under Device Manager I get the following: This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I have updated iTunes to the latest version. Windows tells my my DVD/CD ROM driver is up to date. If it makes a difference, the drive is Optiarc DVD+-RW AD 7640A ATA Device

Amy suggestions how to resolve this conflict other than removing iTunes? I have grown fond of my Nano?

Basic laptop configuration in my sig. Bold added for emphasis.

    Thanks!

it's most likely not itunes....i have itunes on my xps M1530...it works fine...i guess you could try different versions of itunes...i dont have the latest one because i never bother to update it much. because i just add a few songs every once in a while and plug in my touch for like 5 minutes....

just try a few older versions and the newest one and see what it does for you
