    CD burning fails with XP in my XPS M1530

    hi all,

    i have windows XP with service pack 2 in my XPS M1530. All the drivers seems to be fine. one problem now i have is it does not burn CD with any softwares, not even with XP cd writing s/w directly. But i am able to write /burn DVD's without any fail.
    pls help to solve this

    What error are you getting?

    tried a different batch of cd's?

    error is nothing but CD burning failed. and thats is after everything, i mean it shows like its writing 100%. but finally it shows CD BURNING FAILED.

    No. tried nero and XP default cd writing facility. is it anything fo with drivers?

    I have the same problem with my 1530! I thought it was the CD's but that wasn't the case. Roxio software works sometimes. I am upgrading to windows 7 hopefully that will fix everything. good luck
