    Hi Guys,

Can anybody offer any assistance on the following problem with my XPS M1730, I know you will probably say upgrade and get rid but I am reluctant to do so as it has had very little use and is still like new so don't really want to scrap it just yet, the problem is as follows.

I came to switch it on the other day after not having much use at all since I upgraded to Win 7 64 bit with all the correct drivers, pressed the power button and all that happened was the HDD light flickered and the optical drive booted and that was it no illumination, display etc. I left it for 10 mins or so and came back to it and for some reason decided to eject the optical drive and suddenly it sprang to life and booted into Windows but threw up the following error "display driver has stopped responding and has recovered windows kernel mode driver v327.02".

Went away to Google the above error came back and switched it on, came on as above first time and now will no longer boot even with the bizarre opening of the optical drive, I now have the following.
All fans still go on and off as if it has booted
Optical drive appears to read discs
When powering on and holding the D key it cycles through the colours
When powering on and holding FN key the three blue LEDs come on briefly and that's it

Any help would be greatly appreciated
