Hey, guys. I'm trying to install Win7B, and the main problem is that I already have four partitions on my HDD and it won't let me create any more. There's the main C:/Drive, then the three Dell ones: Recovery, and two blank ones that (after some googling) I believe are for diagnostics and DellMediaDirect.

My question is, is it safe to get rid of any or all of those partitions? And even if it is safe, will it cause me to lose any functionality? Thanks a lot!

If you have the dell disks, Vista OEM and drivers and utilities that came with your laptop then dont fear getting rid of the recovery partition. It is a waste of HD space if you ask me.
One of the other partitions is Dell Media Direct. If that is somethign you dont plan on using you may be able to get rid of it. I dont know what problems if any deleting if will cause though.

Get rid of the recovery partition for sure, the media direct one I think you need to reformat for though...

The Recovery partition is for if you want to ever be able to restore to FACTORY CONDITION. Of course, if you make backup discs with Windows as soon as you got your M1530 right out of the box, it is the exact same thing. Feel free to delete Mediadirect partition if you feel you wont use it.
