I have an LG HBS-700 Bluetooth Stereo Headset and an XPS 15 L502. I was able to pair the headset to the computer, but I can't get it to play music from the computer.

The headset is 2.1+EDR, A2DP. I suspect the BT on the Dell is not meant for music streaming.

    Any ideas?

I was trying to read about this the other day since I may want to get a BT headset, but most everything I could find online was pretty useless and/or ancient. I do know that I can play music from my ipod on my XPS through BT, so I assume it should be possible to stream music the other way.

I don't have my laptop handy right now to check, but a couple thoughts...

    - The headset is paired, but is it connected?
    - Is there an option to set it as the default audio in control panel/audio somewhere?

Windows is telling me the device driver is not loaded. There ain't one to load. I don't know how to check if the headset is connected or not. I know it's paired, but I don't see anything about "connected" anywhere.

It seems Windows 7 has/had some issues with not supporting A2DP. Vista and XP apparently did support it so maybe setting something up in compatibility mode might work? Also, some solutions I found online indicated that installing the current Broadcom software should update drivers and profiles for Windows 7. I don't have anything to test with but here's the link if you want to try.

yes, you can play bluetooth headset in your L502X. I've been playing myself in windows 7 ultimate. (Jabra BT3030) P.S. Needs A2DP Profile though.

Solved. I installed the latest wireless and BT drivers (19 Sep) from the Dell website, and now everything works.
BTW, I couldn't get the Broadcom driver to load. It kept looking for a BT device but never found it. I haven't retried since updateing the drivers, and I shant, as it ain't broke, so I won't fix it.
