    I have an old XPS 13 (9343) with a battery that needs replacing.
    I see that I can get genuine Dell batteries on Ebay.

    I know very little about the mechanics/hardware side of a laptop.

    Is this something I can /should be doing on my own?

    Is there a reliable source for instructions somewhere online?

    Good instructions online. Do a Google search. I did this a few years ago and it went well. Be careful not to strip any screws. Get the right tools.
