Can I install a Super Talent 64GB 50mm PATA MLC Half Mini 2 PCIe SSD in the WWAN slot of the XPX 15 and use it for my OS and applications software?

The reason I wanrto do it I would like to have 2 drives HD for files and the ssd for OS - without having to take the machine apart.

I am sure the performance will not be the same as some of the 2.5 ssd drives but is this even worth it?

And if this is a possibly worth it where I can where can I find more info on how to do this?

Thanks. I appreciate any thoughts on this. You guys are really good about these things.

Afaik, the mini PCIe slots don't have SATA pins (only netbooks really have them), therefore no booting from it.

Also, seeing as what you're talkinga about using is PATA, that makes it even less likely that you'll find anything that'll support it.

Is it PATA? There are new SSD's from intel that are mini-sata (mSATA). Looking at the connector makes them seem alike. Would be awesome if they worked. REF: Intel 310 Soda Creek

If there's no sata connection then there is no booting but do you know if that is the case for this machine?

Is there someway to find out what the connections are there with the WWAN card?
