Hopefully this is an easy question...
I just got a 1530 that came with Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I'd like to install 64-bit instead.
At work I have a Dell computer that came with Vista Ultimate 64-bit.
My question is, the work backup disc doesn't have SP1 on it, I don't believe. So can I use that disc and install Vista 64 on my 1530 and use the key that came with my 32-bit version of Vista? Or do I have to search around somewhere to find the Vista Ultimate 64-bit disc with SP1 for the key to work?

yeah pretty sure you can use you 32 key to activate 64 as long as you only have one system working with the one key its legal.....otherwise its not

So it doesn't matter that one has SP1 and the other doesn't?

Hmmm not sure to be honest.......ask Les.......here's his link, he seems to be an expert on this subject

paper_wastage Beat this 7x7x7 Cube
the key that you bought can be used to activate the 64bit version of the same thing
eg vista home premium 32bit key = vista home premium 64bit key
dosent matter SP1
Can I use what I have to install Vista 64 on my 1530?
