Well can it? I want to put one in mine. I guess it's anybody's guess, but I would assume the motherboard will apply the right stepping. The voltage and chipset and socket requirement is the same.

I know this won't help much but...I was going to give it a try but I decided to put my X9100 in my Latitude E6400 instead. I would assume it would work just fine but I would be careful of heat issues. So far my E6400 has shown no signs of overheating.

Hey, that's great to hear. I was just going to come back and post that I had noticed that the X9100 has about a 25% greater heat dissipation requirement than the standard processors offered with the notebooks. So I guess it is working OK for you? How do you like the performance?

I was considering an E6400, too, but I like the memory and screen type and resolution better on the Stupido XPS. And the eSATA is cool, too.

I am still a little undecided but I still have access to a 1640 I can use if I desire.

My E6400 is running great with the X9100, no heat issues at all. At this point the performance is very impressive. I have 8gb's in the E6400 and only 4gb's for the 1640. And the E6400 also has ESATA. I still prefer the 16x10 aspect panels and I am in total awe of this LED backlit Panel on this E6400.
