    hi.. i'm buying a new laptop - samsung RF711-S02
    Core i7 2630QM(2.00GHz)
    17.3"
    4GB Memory
    750GB HDD 5400rpm
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
    Resolution 1600 x 900

i'm happy with the specs, the only thing that i don't like is the speakers, as it lacks basses according to some reviews.

so, i've heard that Dell has a similar specs with the brilliant JBL speakers. So is there a Dell XPS model that has the exact same features "with resolution of 1600 x 900 or 1920 x 1080" by a reasonable price ($1000 - $1200)

note: i bought a dell inspiron 15R i7 version two months ago, and i return it coz of its overheating problems, strange sounds coming from the HDD, fan is SO loud, and terrible speakers (i'll never buy a laptop with srs premium sound, it sucks!!) . but i'm sure XPS is a better laptop class.

    thanks!

Either XPS 17 or XPS 15.

You might want to go with the XPS 15, because the XPS 15's B+RGLED 1920x1080 95% gamut display is much better than the XPS 17's 1600x900 display and the XPS 17's 1920x1080 72% gamut matte display.

They should have a B+RGLED 1920x1080 95% gamut display for the XPS 17 inch
