    And a resolution higher than 1280 * 800?
I am not able to select any resolution higher than 1280 * 800 on an external LCD via HDMI > DVI. I was wondering if others are more lucky?

The sliders in the Nvidia control panel go till 1280 * 800 max
Also please check: Personalize > Display Settings > Advanced Settings > List all modes The maximum resolution shown here is 1280 * 800 on mine as well.

Please do NOT comment on generic NVIDIA controll panel "How To's" (regardless of how well intended these may be) I know how to configure a videocard in general. it's just that higher resolutions than 1280 * 800 are not vissible/accessible in this specifc config.

    I am getting very frustrated running my 3007HC-wpf @ 1280 * 800
while the 8400m-G plays 1920 * 1080 on my Pioneer PDP-5000ex without any problems

    1. It's an 8400m GS.
    2. Try new drivers.

If you really did try to configure the HDMI output SEPARATELY to have a different resolution from the control panel, then I have no idea why its not working. A driver update is the only suggestion I can give. Try latest nVidia moded drivers at : laptopvideo2go

Tried those (all version which came out in the last 2 weeks)
i do get a picture on my 3007 (bot in "Extended Desktop" "Clone" or "Extenral LCD" only modes.

The problem is that the slider for the 3007 is limited on the right t0 1280 * 800 pixels (same as internal panel) so yes i can go lower (up to 640 * 480) but not higher since the slider scale is limited.

The monitor supports 2560 * 1600 (when driven duallink)
The 8400m supports 2560 * 1600 (but is cripled to 1920 * 1080 becasue of the single link HDMI implementation)

the XPS-M1330 DOES play 1920 * 1080p on my 50" plasma (since the driver recognizes this as a HDTV) So this notebook can provide 1920 * 1080 via HDMI.

It just does not appear on the resolution sliders and since the 3007 is not recognized as a HDTV by the driver,i can not trick it int playing 1080p either.

Hence i was curious if others with the same system have the same issue while driving an external LCD monitor via HDMI > DVI?
