Like the title says I just got a 1502x and wanted to know if the video card is upgradable to something like the 555gt. I think this is the perfect laptop in every way. Best screen / speakers around so prefer keep this and upgrade over buying a lesser quality system with better stats (like the asus g74sx I just returned)

No, the Video Card is soldered onto the board and cannot be removed. Additionally, the BIOS is not configured to accept/work any GPU except for the 520M & 540M. It would be nice if you could

Since the GT540M is soldered on the systemboard, the only way to get faster graphics would be via an eGPU using the wifi's mPCIe slot. It's been done already. See a GTX460 attached at http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-xps-studio-xps/568268-vidock-w-sandy-bridge-l1502x-l1702x.html and the results at http://forum.notebookreview.com/gam...851-diy-egpu-experiences-428.html#post7659096 .
Can you upgrade the Video card on xps 1502x?
