    Hey.

Cannot restore factory settings using CTRL+F11 (Do not have recovery disks) HELP!

    I am on DELL XPS 15 L502x

I have messed up, and I have also messed up the partitions somehow, well now I got clean windows installed and the recovery partition is still there untouched, but I can see it in this clean installed Windows, as its not hidden or anything. But all the recovery files are still there.

Can I somehow use the recovery partition to create a recovery disk?

Can I restore to factory settings using the recovery partition?

I had also tried to recover using imagex using the factory.wim but after it was done extracting 100%, it gave some JAVA related error and could not continue with the restore.

Any help on how to go back to factory settings using the restore partition?

    Thank you.

CTRL + F11 is the old school Dell way of accessing the recovery partition (XP).

You need to spam F8 and Repair my Computer. Go to most bottom option for Dell Data Safe and Recovery options.

It wont install says there is not factory image on the system, when there is a recovery partition.

Do I select the base.wim file? There are a few .wim files there?
