What is that "GSM chip" type slot under the battery of my 1530?
    Future WIMAX support?

I have wondered why it is there. Seems like it would be on the mobile card itself.

The broadband card is installed internally under your keyboard which is not convenient if you want to change your SIM card. Some peeps use more than one carrier so they have multiple SIM cards. Just removing the battery to do so is a lot easier than unscrewing the botton cover under your laptop. :)

Sorry to say... but at the moment... the WiMax wouldn't work.

why is that, because it seems to be a fully functional slot, I mean, not like a plastic piece or something.
    It depends on BIOS upgrade?

    Cheers.
