    Centrino 2 on 1730?

    I am wondering if shall I wait a few days more in order to know if DELL will update the 1730 Mothere board with the Centrino 2 ?. As far as I know DELL will hit the market with 2 new Centrino 2 models.

    Is DELL coming with the 1730 replacement?

    That's a terribly unfounded rumor. The XPS desktop is being phased out as Dell has acquired alienware, but the XPS laptops are BOOMING. We're not seeing them go away anytime soon.

    I read it as the XPS gaming laptops will be replaced by the Alienware offerings. The other XPS lappys like the 1530 will become the high end lappys for dell.

    Yep.....thats what I think as well,how can you have AW as the premium gaming brand,as well as maintaining cutting edge with the XPS....it doesn't make sense......the way I see it,is that the XPS line will become multimedia machines with much lesser "gaming" specs than the "premium" alienware....it might take a year or so,but I'd put money on it happening.
