So far I've kept mine connected to the AC adapter w/ battery almost 24/7, only removing adapter when I need to bring it along. At first I removed the battery coz my last laptop had diminished battery life, but then realized it's unbalanced. So far battery life is more or less the same as it was when I first got it.

If you always use the notebook on AC power, then disconnecting the battery could help prolong the battery’s life time. But if you regularly switch between main power and battery, then leave it intact.

Yeah, I'm prety sure that if you leave the AC adapter plugged in, it will charge the battery to 100% and then "switch it off".

Now your machine will be directly powered from the AC adapter, bypassing the battery, ensuring as little battery cycling as possible and prolonging lifespan.

    Hope this helps

Agree :) Also, some laptops may even stop charging at 95%. This is done to avoid short discharge/charge cycles which ultimately help prolong the overall life of the battery.
