I'm sorry, your XPS is never going to be like an Alienware...

Aside from meaning, it is nice. :)

a friend of mine has an alienware, i prefer my xps 10 times over his alienware, for so many reasons (alienwares are so bulky, heavy and hard to take on a trip or so, also my xps is built from aluminum and other metals, the alienware is mostly plastic), also i paid much less than him, and ive got so much better hardware on my lappy, BUT!, those sli cards sure bring up some FPS :D

I totally agree with you. Alienware is sheer representation of power over form and functionality. Sure you get the SLI and 8800M GTX, but the weight, the horrendous battery life, the look, all fails compared to XPS.

lol.. I was about to say it.

But rather, does Dell 'own' alienware completely now? as far as I heard last, Dell was planning a merger of the XPS / Alienware design and tech lines or something like that!!! Anyways..... all is well!!

Yes, Dell owns alienware completely. XPS is not merging and is a premium line with Alienware the true gaming line.

You will always see a above average midrange card on the XPS, while seeing the best card in Alienware. End of story.

I dont get why people would put an XPS Wallpaper with a hint of Alienware on their laptops. XD

But as I see it, the only thing the M17X offers over and above the XPS M1530 is better fashion (aesthetics) and not superior hardware (both max SLi 8800M GTX)... so what you said doesn't completely apply....

Above average/midrange card on the XPS 15.4'' and 13.3''. 17'' is a different story. Dell tries to find the best balance between weight, form, and functionality with the XPS line versus the Alienware line.

Dell still owns alienware completely. It doesn't matter for them which one the customer buys. They still make a profit on both.

Well I guess this makes perfect sense since Dell owns Alienware ... why not put an Alien head with the XPS symbol. I like it and will be using it on my new laptop :)

LOL so much discussion from a wallpaper, I decided to put he skull because I wanted an alienware laptop in the first place but it was too pricey so I got its cousin Xps. And plus, the skull looks nice ^^
