    Hi:

I will soon receive an XPS 15 from Del, with i7-2760QMl. I thought I'd run something like Belarc Advisor to ensure the equipment I ordered is installed.

Anything else I should run to confirm and test the system?

As far as operating temperature, is there a utility on the XPS 15 to check that, or is there a third-party download that is recommended? And what is considered a normal temperature range for this model?

    Thanks

    u can use
-"cpuz" for processor and RAM details.....
    -"gpuz" for graphic card info.....
-"crystal disk info" for hard drive info....
-"cystal disk mark" to bench hard drive....

    For temerature checking use "hwmonitor"....

-Use "intel burn test" to stress test cpu
-use "furmark " to stress test gpu
    - play some new games on it and check real world stress temperatures as well......

If gonna use SSD, then use "bootracer" as well to check boot time and post here to brag about :D

I read someone's post here who said he installed Intel and nVidia drivers "taking preference over Dell ones".

    1. Is it recommended to get drivers other than what Dell provides?
    2. If so, wouldn't you need to uninstall the Dell drivers first?

I always install the latest WHQL nvidia drivers. The new installer actually uninstalls the old ones for you, too.
