    Hi,

I just received this lovely beast and yes, it's true...

Most definitely a finger print, and every other print magnet!

Can you please share some good ways to clean this machine, including the keys, the palm rests and the RGBLED screen?

    Thank you!
    Mike

Walmart has these wipes called Nice'N Clean Electronic Cleaning wipes for like 2 bucks which really make it nice and shiny afterward. Alcohol free :D

I use the Monster ScreenClean pack. It comes with a microfiber cloth and and cleaning solution. Got it at Best Buy. I spray the cleaning solution on the cloth and wipe down the laptop, then roll it up and gently glide it over the screen (mostly to remove dust). It works really well. I would keep the cloth in a sealed ziploc bag, that way it stays clean and won't pick up particles that could scratch the surface of your laptop. Hope this helps!

    Thank you!

Can you please tell me if you also use that for the keyboard and the palm rests?

    All the best,
    Mike

A microfiber cloth is good for the Palmrest/Screen, and is always handy :) for cleaning....you can use the ones from your local Eye Dr's office, get them at places like Walmart, etc... ;)

I just bought this for my 1640: ShaggyMac

Found out about it from this thread

Thanks, again...Asherek for the tip on the Shaggymac :)

    Cin...

Yup, I use the cleaning solution and the cloth on the whole computer. Keeps it shiny and like new! :-D I spray the solution on the cloth then wipe everything down. A lot of the time, I will dust of the screen with the dry microfiber cloth. You want to use microfiber, because a course towel will definitely scratch up the glossy plastic on the palmrest and lid.

I use baby wipes to wipe off my screen keyboard area and everywhere basically, then i just dry it off with a paper towel. And it looks brand new :)
