im using dox optimized driver 180.84, soon after i install that driver, im getting artifacts and color distortion, not only in game, but oso in desktop, especially when im using IE, however, as i scroll up and down to refresh the page, the artifacts is gone.

i just replaced the thermal paste of my GPU, peak temperature stays at 76 degree celcius.

is this driver issue or the defects of the card?

    opinions?

im getting strange green vertical lines for a second when loading games, and i suppose that's my gpu saying bye bye.... or could also be the 180.84 driver i just installed :D
try getting another driver Thyg, its worth the try, because its not mere coincidence that 2 gpus get the same problems with the same driver, must be some problems when dumping data from its RAM, witch causes a tiny crash... if changing the driver doesnt fix it then its your GPU, in that case chat with a dell tech to have your mainboard replaced.

best of luck! and il be looking out for more strange artifacts.

180.84 didn't work at all on my 8600GT.

Also I had similar problems with some 180.XX drivers, now i'm using Dell driver in vista 64X, my GPU temp is 65C at the peak

Which one do you guys recommend for vista 64X ??

    Thanks in advance

    same problem with dox optimised!
gpu is fine... get a different driver. 18*.** series does not have full mobile support, so no wake up from sleep :|

the dell 176.44 works very well for me. It prevents my card from downlocking, keeping full performance 3d speeds in games, and as such, the most stable FPS experience. the 180.x drivers don't work with standby or hibernate on my computer. 179.13 gave good performance, but higher temps.

thanks for the recommendation of other drivers, but what i can say about dox optimised 180.84 is very good driver, for COD5, im able to get much much better frame rate than 174.31, it's like at least 10+ more fps than 174.31, too bad we cant use it.

doing research for other acclaimed drivers to find the most suitalbe one.

    thx all.
