I just replaced the motherboard in my M1530 from one with an nvidia 8400M graphics chip to one with an 8600M GT chip. I decided to go for it once I saw how cheap boards were going for on eBay. I picked one up for $100. The process wasn't terribly complicated either. Took me just under 1.5 hours to get everything taken apart and put back together again. I haven't done any real tests, but under Windows 7 RC, my WEI scores jumped from 4.1/4.0 to 5.7/5.1 (Desktop Graphics/Gaming & 3D Graphics). So far so good! Has anyone else tried this?
