Hi Guyss!!! I am new to this site.

I am in dilemma, I cannot decide which laptop I shall buy. either XPS m1330 or Precision M2400.

My main objective will be watchin movies on line via connectiong laptop to 40 inch HDTV.

The question is XPS 1330 has NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS 128 MB graphic card
and Precision has NVIDIA Quadro FX 370M1 Graphics with 256MB dedicated memory.

which 1 you think is much better or will not make any difference when comes to graphic card?

and the second thing is will the picture flick when I will watch movie on line by connecting laptop to HDTV

    There is no budget...for me.

Can somebody help me please...I am goin crazy jst thinkin which 1..lol

    Thanks in advance

Precision M2400 hands down!. Precision series has better build quality, also has the newer Centrino 2 platform with a better (1066MHz FSB) processor and DDR 2 800MHz RAM. I’m not sure about the Qudro 370M’s performance, [EDIT] Sorry, I made a mistake before when comparing performance, yomamasfavourite is correct, looks like 8400M GS is slightly faster than Quadro 370M because of the number of graphic processors and memory bandwidth, I was earlier comparing it with 8400M G which is almost identical to 370M but older) [/EDIT]

Besides, M1330s are plagued with overheating nVidia chips, Most of my friends who have M1330s (4 including me) , had a motherboard change, and I have seen hundreds of online complaints. just take a look at some of the NBR forums, you'll see how bad the situation is.... So Stay away !

Well I can tell you from my M1330 adn nop not flick...quality the same that you'll see in your laptops screen.

Since the M2400 is said to be better then should be better I guess

I'd definitley agree about getting the precision over the 1330 but nb the 8400 is actually more powerful, its got twice the cores that the fx has, thought I'd imagine the fx is much more efficient.

yeah, maybe 8400M GS is faster due to the number of graphic processing units and bandwidth.

I dont think there'll be any flickering, however I didnt see a HDMI or a DVI port on M2400. Therefore your only option is analog VGA (which is not as good as using a digital signal like HDMI :( , but you can still transfer full HD resolution to the TV )
