Hi all! I was just doing some reading about the 1730 and noticed that it only has a DVI-D out. Is it possible to use a simple port converter so that I can plug it into the VGA slot of my LCD monitor? (mine is an old model that only has VGA and DVI-I in, unfortunately). Or is the only solution to either buy an expensive converter box, or buy a new monitor?

Ah ok, so I only need a simple converter. Does the 1730's graphics card definitely convert the digital signal into an analogue one automatically?

    Yes definately, I've used a DVI-VGA adapter with my m1730 a few times :)

IMO... you'd be better advised buying a DVI - VGA cable, rather than an adapter?

It's maybe just a personal thing, but I always prefer to use a direct cable connection whenever possible, rather than using a 'dongle'.

You can pick up DVI - VGA cables in any number of different lengths (i.e. 1m -25m!), starting from just a couple of quid/few bucks.
Ebay is a good place to get 'em cheap as chips ;)
