Hello guys
I'm having some issues to connect to certain wifi networks with my del XPS 17.
My wireless device is a Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 (driver version 14.1.1.3).
I'm using AVG 2011 as an antivirus.
Now, when I want to connect to some networks, I get the error that I can't connect.
This happens to real networks, an adhoc network or even a Connectify hotspot.
Other networks work perfectly.
Is this a problem with the wlan card or something else?
Please help me out!

Since you can connect to some networks fine, I don't think it's your card. If I was debugging this, first I'd make sure I had the most recent drivers.
Then I'd try to determine what's the difference between those you can connect to and those you can't.
Assuming a strong signal, do the problem networks have a security password that you need to specify when connecting? Do they use the same protocol as the "good" networks, (A/B/G/N)?. Are they near other networks nearby that might cause interference? -
I'll try to find a difference in networks, give me some time for that.
And relating the drivers, I've searched a bit and found 2 drivers.
1) Intel Centrino wireless-N1030 Bluetooth v3.0 + HS (driver v14.1.1.3, A00)
2) Centrino Wireless-N 1030 (driver v14.1.2.3, A03)
What's the difference? -
Number one is the driver for the Bluetooth aspect of the card, the second is the wireless internet driver. You probably want both, number 2 for sure
-
I've installed those drivers, but nothing remarkable has changed.
I think it's an issues with the 802.11n networks.
The most I can connect to are b or g.
Is it possible that this is the issues?
If yes, how can I solve it? -
Disable power saving under power options for windows. There is an issue with these cards when running at anything below maximum performance on battery.

Since, you are mostly using B/G AP, why not disable Wireless N mode.
The problem can also be blamed are using poor implemented or dated AP as well.
Other brand of newer cards are having similar problems as with the newer Intel cards.
Fortunately, I don't have these issues anymore.
