A couple of months ago when I was still on RC, I noticed that when I was using Firefox it would often lock up to the point where it would fade out and I had to wait for it to come back. It would also sometimes just bring my entire computer to a crawl. I kept wondering what was causing this, one day I found out that this only happens when I'm listening to music in iTunes....if it locks up I go and pause the song and it springs back to life and it's fine again. Today I went and downloaded the Ultimate x64 RTM figuring that in the final version the issues would have been fixed but it's still doing it....what should I do? Is there another version of Firefox that I should download? Is anyone else having this issue?

Don't have that problem on Windows 7 Pro x64, using the latest version of Firefox 3.5.2. Didn't have that problem in the Beta or RC either.

What extensions are you using? Maybe one of them is creating the issue.

I don't have any addons currently. I did have a skype one and an auto page reloader but I currently don't have those installed and it's still doing it. I'm using the Studio XPS 16, and I was figuring it was maybe a driver conflict of some sort with Windows 7?

    might be RAM issues...

just uninstall and reinstall Firefox... or use Opera :)

Well are you suggesting that perhaps my RAM is fubar? That would certainly be an issue....

    You can try running memTest:

    http://www.memtest86.com/download.html

Burn ISO to disc, boot from it and see if it shows any errors. If any errors do show up in the test, then your RAM is faulty. You may need to let the test run for a few hours before any errors even show up.

Hmm, well you can safely assume it is not the RAM then. I'd almost say reinstall the OS and see what happens, but considering it was happen previously before you did a clean install, it makes it a little weird.

Is there still an x64 version of Firefox kicking around on the internet somewhere? Maybe I should try that, it always seemed to run better in x64.
