Laptop: Dell XPS M1530, have a 9cell battery
now, the thing is, im gonna use the cooler when im at home/at a stationary area with AC adapter (in which case ill take off the battery. its better for the battery to be taken off when its on AC adapter, or says the very helpful guide by chrisyano)
im debating between:
lapcool 3
bytecc NC-820
Zalman NC-1000
price isnt the issue here (so long as its under 50), it's a matter of efficiency.
i personally think that the bytecc would cool my laptop best 'cause it covers the entire base of the notebook, but reviews from newegg and other places on the net say its just not that effective
BUT the Zalman is of better qualiity, except it doesnt cover the entire base of the notebook T_T
so wat to do.
P.S. PLEASE DO NOT RECOMMEND ME TO BUY THE ZALMAN NC-2000. i realize that is THE best, but i am NOT willing to travel to Ottawa or order it online for just a cooler. and of course, spend 70 bucks on it.
thanks for all the help everyone! i just bought the notebook and i wanna make sure its running smoothly > <

I dont think you need one, the 9 cell battery give you extra space for air flow so dont mind about having a coller.
check your temp or have a program that manage your temp periodically , if it's under 60 when idle and do not reach over 80 under load, you are fine! -
oh cool, thanks a lot haha
ionno, if anything, ill do the old fashioned icepack method
or just .. have a huge ass fan right beneath my laptop for 30 mins and do work again (the temp rllly bothers my wrists T_T) -
in my opinion, the nc1000 is way too small (unless u prefer that "floaty" look).
u might want to check out the cooler master infinity. the m1530's main vents are towards the rear and middle of the laptop. the design's of the nc1000 and bytecc doest even provide direct air flow to the rear vents.
hac is right. if u'r goin for light/everyday use then the 9-cell will provide ample air flow. if u want the best (in my opinion) get the nzxt cryo lx. it is a beast...a f'in beautiful beast =) -
The cryo is a beast!
I use my Averatec 2155 without a cooler and just the extended battery to lift it up and after 10 hours of straight use its still very bearable to rest my palms on it. -
well i cant get the cryo... its just wayyy too expensive for me
I did find the thermaltake NBT1000... now it says it supports 15 inch laptops, and user reviews say its rly good and worth the money
I can get it for about 29 bucks right now at a store, SO im wondering if its worth it for the XPS M1530. thanks a lot, AGAIN -

so any opinions on the thermaltake?

get the nc1000, its a great cooler thats protable and easy to use. I wrote a review for it so check it out.
-
see, that's why i was also considering the thermaltake - my finalists at this point are the thermaltake and the Zalman... according to web pages, the thermaltake also covers 15 inch laptops too, andthe dimensions seem to cover the entire base of the XPS... so im gonna havta see -

thermaltake NB T1000
or Zalman NC1000
Cooler decisions!
