When I play music on my M1530, i get a very annoying crackling sound from the speaker, that does not stop, it makes it almost impossible to listen to music with the speaker, because it crackling almost over powers the music. First of all, is there any way to fix this on my own, and also, since I have a 3 year comelete care warranty, is this covered under my warranty, and is it worth my time and effort to call in and either get the speaker replaced or what ever they would do, thanks for any help. Also, if they replace the speaker do they need to send a tech or can they just send me the speaker and I replace it, i hate having techs doing stuff for me.

Most likely you'll have to send it in... I mean if they send it to you, you could mess it up more by mistake, costing Dell more.

I wish it wasnt like that but I guess thats how the system works.

How long does the whole process usually take, I will need it back by the end of August, when school starts for me.

On my M1330 this is due to C4 power state (which is also responsible for CPU whining).

Anyway, if I switch C4 mode off using RMClock, noise disappears:

Therefore I'm using HDMI digital audio out. You might also try bluetooth A2DP profile. Doesn't M1530 have S/PDIF out?
