    Hi all,

I wanted to install an SSD into my XPS 17 and after opening the bottom part, I just realised that the cradle was not supplied with my notebook. Other XPS 17 owners reported that it came with theirs.

Should I contact Dell to send me one or is it possible to buy them somewhere?

    Thanks!

    I suspect newmodeus sells them.

I would contact Dell. I bet you they will send it out for free without an argument. Worth a try before you buy one on your own.

Thanks for the responses. Just out of interest, is there anyone who didn't receive a second HD bracket with their XPS 17?

I don't think Dell supply any of the fitting parts for second hard drive unless you purchase the drive with the laptop.

Getting these part can become very difficult after a machine stops production.

HP doesn't, I don't know if dell does, but as someone else said newmodeus will have their version out within a month or two, they always do.

For a while maybe.... But not for long.... Everytime I've looked there I get, ' This part number/item has been discontinued'.

I suppose my point is that if you want this option don't leave it too long to order these parts.
