I've had on and off issues with my "d" key for the last two days, ads you can see when I hit "A" it hits the d ads well.
Is this ad simple keyboard issue that I can get fixed with ad new keyboard or potentially something else?

Did something happen that triggered this event, e.g. liquid spill on keyboard?

No, I don't think so. I cleaned it out adnd it didn't seem to be any more dirt thadnn the norm. The only thing I cdan think of was when it slid out of my bag along with some papers in class. It's getting so adnnoying going badck adnd erasing the extra d's when I type adn A.

If you are under warranty still, get Dell to send you a replacement keyboard (easy to install).
Otherwise, buy a replacement from e-bay. -
For giggles, check the keyboard layout. Make sure it's in standard english. If it is I'd suggest you do this:
1. boot into safe mode and see if it gives you the same problem
2. go into bios and run a diagnostics test of your hardware -
There is a good chance that the keyboard is going bad. I've had stuck, sticky, repeating keys before but as stated above I could always trace it back to spilling something. It could still be a dirty keyboard issue or maybe just a manufacturing issue, but I don't think the problem would be any further than the keyboard.
Of course trying the above suggestion first would verify that it is a hardware issue and not some weird OS problem.
I had to LOL as I read the title and the post, fairly obvious something was wrong -
imo keyboard needs to be replaced

I ran a diagnostic test yesterday and everything checked out. Right now the keyboard is working fine, but its just a matter of time before it craps out on me again. Guess I'll have to call up Dell and get a replacement. Do they send a tech out to do it? Or can they send me a new keyboard and I replace it myself? I'd rather go for the speedier option.

check the cable to see if its plugged in right

hmm, my keyboard worked fine all day today.

you most likely need to replace the keyboard.
i had a problem where the "8", "i", "k", "," and "]" keys would work on/off. then one day, those keys just stopped working all together.
new keyboard replacement from Dell fixed everything!! -

Well its worked all day today and yesterday so it might have fixed itself or something...
"D" key presseds itself adnd. when I hit the "A" the "D" key is pressed too, adnd sometimes it just doesn't work!
