I did a clean Windows 10 install on my new XPS13 2015 edition. Latest drivers but when it comes out of sleep the screen flickers really bad. It did not do this when I was running Windows 8.1 Any ideas? I thought a clean install would be better than upgrading but now I am having my doubts.

I'm having the same issue :(

Had similar issues with Windows 8.1 but was very rare and didn't worry. With Windows 10, it is happening all the time especially when screen wakes from sleep. All diagnostic tests pass.
Have spoken to Dell and they recommended installing Intel's latest driver (10.18.15.4256). This, however, did not help.

When I was reading the forum thread for the latest Intel 5500 driver, there were reports of it causing issues for many users. You could try installing an older driver to see if that works, although you'll also probably have to do some extra legwork to prevent the 10.18.15.4256 driver from auto-installing on top of it.

Alternately, you may want to try doing a clean install of Windows (if this wasn't one already). Any small issues I found after a straight upgrade were resolved after doing a clean install.

Same issue here, tried to remove and update drivers for Intel HD 5500.
I am glad that I've found this thread and people who has similar problems, before this I thought that it is hardware problem and I should return my laptop, hope soon DELL or Intel will fix this issue by upgrading drivers.

    Hello aralos1999,

The driver you mentioned (15.40.4.1.64.4268) does not help. For anyone else, please be aware there is no release note or official word from Intel regarding this version.

If it were a driver issue, I would expect more people to be complaining as it would affect everyone. It's possibly hardware related. Will contact Dell and arrange a motherboard replacement.

Also having this problem. And I've noticed, as have other people apparently, that it might not be a flicker so much as the screen resolution is constantly being re-adjusted.

Just happened to me. Between this and the lag & touchpad issues I'm kinda disappointed with this machine :(

It looks cool but I wish it would live up to its design on a mechanical level!

Are you guys running at full resolution? I have the QHD, and I was running at 1080p to save battery and that's when it was happening. When I switched back to QHD it has stopped so far.

Well, I am glad that workaround was found, it is better than nothing. Hope DELL will update firmware or what they need to update to make it right.

Thank you to everyone commenting and offering suggestions.

Disabling C-State corrects the issue. However, a fix must be released otherwise it will greatly reduce battery life.

For the record, a few have suggested turning off an option within Intel's graphic driver for refresh rate switching (or similar to that effect). This does not help in this instance.

The flickering does appear to rapidly resize the screen thereby creating the illusion of flickering. I do not believe it has anything to do with refresh rates.

Fingers crossed Dell are aware of the issue and are planning a fix :)
