    Hello:

    Thanks for this comunity.
    problem is the following:

I have a DELL XPS M1530 notebook and I'm tired of having the same old-n-slow t7250 and i need to upgrade to a really faster cpu.

but when searching on ebay by example, there's no processor compatible with my notebook's chipset (intel PM965 GM965 I think)
so please give me a hand with this.
I need to know all about my chipset and wich cpus are compatible with
I was thinking to upgrade to a x9100 or something like that one but am not sure about compatibility, so please help me

    thanks in advance.

The Fastest you can upgrade to is the Core 2 Duo T9500

    With BIOS version A12

i would say save money and upgrade to the cheapest penyrn T8100 or T8300.... put the money saved into a savings account(even though the low interest rate)... and in a few years, get a new laptop

or better... clean your laptop of crapware and stuff.. it'll boot up faster and do tasks better

I had a M1530 with a T7250, jumping to a T8100 when dell fixed my computer. I have seen very little performance (7-12%) increase with that. Honestly, save your money and wait for the next generation or 2. That laptop will last you quite a while.
