    I need help with the part number for a new glossy screen as my old screen has stopped working and the colours were never quite right I have been advised the number is LP171WU but there are so many variations I am not sure which one. carbotec

    There are probably multiple screen models that will work. Just go to eBay or wherever you want to buy and look for something like "M1730 screen". Screens from the Inspiron 1720/Vostro 1700/Precision M6300 should work too.
