Hi,
i have an old DELL XPS one A2010 with an ATI HD2400 card inside a MXM slot and i was wondering if there is any possibility to upgrade to FX770m. I already have the card and trie it out but while turning on the computer i have the 30sec beep "mode" and afterwards the computer will boot up. Problem is that all the time the screen is black. I can log inside the computer using teamviewer and i see that the card is there, even though its down clocked, but its obviously compatible. My question is if there is any workaround how to make the card working? Is there the necessity to hack the system bios as well or its enough just the vbios? Iam already lost here and any help will be highly appreciated.

Since you can access your PC via teamviewer, have you tried to update the graphics drivers of the GPU? Though that doesn't explain why it won't display before loading the OS...

Hi,
sure, i tried to update the drivers and even though the installer found the GPU and installed newest drivers the screen is still black. I believe that the issue is somewhere on the BIOS level, either inside vBIOS or sBIOS. I found an thread about the vBIOS for FX770m but all links are dead. They were discussing the disabling of the "ERROR: MXM Structure not found or invalid" but because I cant find the relevant BIOS I cant try it. Also, for me is very suspicious that the screen is black, all the time and to be honest I have no idea where to look inside the sBIOS to search for some MXM structure…

Oh... Sorry for not greeting you earlier. So... Hi!
I guess you could reach out to your PC forum community: I'm pretty sure some users would still have copies of the BIOS for re-upload.
