Hello @ all,
i've got an xps15z with "black screen" problem. First I've checked video cable, which is obviously o.k. So, I decided to order and to replace GPU.
After this notebook make no error beebs anymore if notebook starts, even if I disconnect eeprom battery or lcd cable.
Question: is it possible, that mainboard need a kind of activation (key sequence or sth. like that) after GPU replacement ?
Thanks

How exactly did you replace the GPU in an XPS 15z? I'm pretty sure it's soldered to the motherboard?

Hi, I replaced GPU via re flow precedure.
It looks like nobody out there can give me an answer. -
I'm not sure which 15Z you have, but I think most if not all have 2GPUs, one discreet, and one onboard. Have you tried forcing one or the other via BIOS? I'm not positive, but I also think that the HDMI Port is attached to the discreet (NVidia) GPU so all display through that port goes through the NVidia chip.
