I have a new DELL XPS M1530. I've just bought it on last May.
    Intel T9300
    4GB DDR2 RAM
    200GB 7200rpm
    GeForce NVIDIA8600M GT
    2MP Webcam

    1. Before I bought the laptop, I have tried the WEBCAM at the DELL Store at the same XPS M1530 display, the motion was fast and not blurr when I tried to wave my hand at the camera. I test it with a few resolutions, 1600x1200, 1280x1024, 800x600, 640x480.
But when I tried mine, the motion is slower and blur when I tried to wave my hands at the camera compared to the one at the DELL Store.
    What is wrong?
Is there any settings I must change to get it good? Or is there any calibration settings to set the webcam?
Or is this problem with the hardware or software or what?

    2. When I have a Skype phone, I also use the DELL Webcam manager application to test the picture( NOT video call ). But when I tried it, the phone was little bit interrupted.
What should I do? I have got high specs! They should be more than enough to handle those processes, right?

    Thank you very much.

I have been wondering about this too. I have to turn my resolution down to like 640x to avoid blur.

I don't think the resolution is a problem because yesterday I went to DELL Store and tried the XPS M1530 camera and it was OK at any resolution. At first I also thought the same thing as you did.

Any idea how to solve this? Share me the info when you got it.

    Thanks.

I believe the amount of light in the room makes a big difference.

So, try shining a lamp in your direction or something and see what happens.

Ok I will try to have more lights. But I thought I was sit right under a lamp in my room. Have you tried it with yours? How is the result?

And anyway does the strong/weak light have any relation with the slow motion?

Does the LCD panel resolution also affecting the camera quality?

    Thank you.

Yep lighting changes the frame rates a lot. There seems to be a driver issue with the camera or something. But it's a well known issue. Basically the webcam sucks on the M1530. I personally didn't need a webcam anyway, and never use it.

Ok. I will try it then. What driver issue? Is there any trouble with the XPS Webcam driver or the webcam itself?

What is the difference between DELL Webcam Manager and DELL Webcam Center?

Yesterday, I went into DELL site and found DELL Webcam Central which was claimed has features of blur reduction, etc.

Where can I get the installer?

Btw, what is the brand of XPS webcam?

Actually I don't really like it either, but I need it for video call.

    Thank you.

I read in DELL.com that there is DELL webcam central.

Is it different with Webcam manager / Webcam center?
Because it was said that it has the features of
    Reducing motion blur, etc..

Where can I get the download of DELL Webcam central? I have looked for it in DELL.com but I didnot found it.

    Thank you.

It was probably a typo for Webcam Center, it's not too uncommon for Dell's site to have little things like that.
