DHL To ship a laptop (pathatic)

Hi all, i ordered my M1330 a week ago and shipped it 2nd day air and
guess what?? i'm still waiting for it, the accessories that were shipped on the same day are here, but the laptop isn't.... i decided if i ever have problems with my laptop i don't want to have to send it back and wait a week to get it here from dell, + me shipping it to dell. i decided i'm returning it because i HATE!!! DHL!!! and i don't want any laptop that uses DHL... Why can't Dell use Fedex
like the good companys do.

 

Is your laptop even ready to ship yet? I've never heard of dell building and shipping a laptop in less than a week.

 

It's possible if the unit is ordered from the Dell Outlet. Their units are pre-assembled refurbs. I received my XPS M1730 in CA within 3 days of placing the order. Dell apparently uses DHL because their assembly facility is only a short distance from the DHL-hub in Memphis TN.

 

DHL is usually way better than FedEx. I think you're being overly impatient. Call Dell up and find out what's going on if you have a problem.

 

Yes sir it was shipped on 6/30/08 i can give you the tracking number if you want it. a refurb from dell outlet.

 

I might be overreacting, but i paid for 2nd day shipping and today is the 4th day and it didn't come, 4th on friday, so laptop might come on monday then...
would you be patient with that?

 

Fedex's hub is in Memphis. The Outlet is outside of Nashville. They use DHL because it is cheap.

What does the tracking number show you?

 

Tracking number shows me that the box is about an hour from me, out for delivery. and tomorrows the 4th of july, so it's sitting for 3 days an hour drive from me. i got 3 boxes from dell, but not the laptop.. all were shipped the same day.

 

It if says out for delivery, you should be getting it today.

 

I can't speak for Fedex, as I've never had any problems with them, but DHL is much, much better than UPS.

 

I think it's completely regional. UPS has been great in my area, they got a package from a Costco warehouse in Washington to my house in central-California overnight. It was shipped with ground shipping. All of my shipments arrive on or before the EDD from UPS. The same has held true for FedEx. Haven't had much experience with DHL though.

 

LOL!! i contacted DHL and they said the box is no longer in their possession, they have USPS pick it up and deliver it to my mailbox.. they didn't say or do anything about the second day that turned into 3 day's..... they bad..
anyways, dell used to ship with fedex, and i took 2nd day shipping and i always had it next day, ups was good, but the boxes were beat up more,
but Dell might loose another customer due to dhl shipping, it's really not the new laptop shipping that'll come 3 days late, but repairing it will have the same effect on me..

 

DHL probably doesn't ship to your area. They had to hand it off to someone else. Don't get too impatient. While it's Dell's fault that they contract with DHL, is it really something to get this frustrated about? It'll get to you. Not sure how long you have been waiting for your computer, but there are still people who ordered there's back in late May...waiting.

 

well yes, they're waiting for dell...but i'm waiting for DHL and i took 2nd day air which cost $40 problem is, i'll not even be home when the box will come, so i wouldn't see it until a few days pass.

 

I would call Dell and demand a refund of your shipping charges. USPS delivers on Saturdays though, so maybe you'll see it this weekend.
