I found a dead pixel in my screen. It's not dust since when I turned off the screen and shone light onto it, nothing was there. I am sure it's dead since I ran the colour tests. I tried pressing on the screen at the point and the colour distortions spread to the dead pixel and reverted, but no success. Any other ideas as to how to remove it without contacting Dell? I don't want to lose my laptop for a few weeks ... And the thing is the edge-to-edge screen is a piece of plastic over the actual screen, so pressing the actual screen is hard.
Update: I have run UndeadPixel for over 6 hours with the screen on.

Well, here my story goes, I purchased SXPS 1640 in Feb.
The day on which is was delivered to me, I found that there were around 2 or 3 dead pixels.
Though, for me, they were not so irritating and it was fine.. I didnt ever contacted dell about this.
But, now, see this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=404453
I am having a lot of more troubles now and they said that they will not replace my laptop since I didnt ever contacted dell within 30 days...
So, its better, if you just contact dell and get your laptop replaced with a new one if its within 30 days... -

Dell support says unless I have 6 or more simultaneous deads, they won't do jack. -
If it bothers you that much, ask for a refund and send it back to them and repurchase. That is you are still within your 21 days..if not then just make something up. Say the display has big green blobs about 1" thick in the corners and it's not usable. They should send out a tech to replace it and 99% of the time, the tech doesn't even verify the problem so you should be set.

Would they send someone even if I don't have in-home?
