Dell - Your battery has experienced a permanent battery failure?

So its over a year old my xps 15 9530 come to turn it on from being on charge whilst shutdown as i would do normally. Powers on then goes off, and wont turn back on. Get it plugged in i use the 130w power supplies and tested with both.

Tried disconnecting the battery and powering on to power down the board still to no avail.

Im not happy where do i stand with dell, i know dell wont replace a battery with not holding a charge when its had its day. But this is a failure. Ive got Pro Support. What do you guys reckon.

 

I don't udnerstand. Does the laptop function when it's plugged in to a power adapter?

The problem is either a defective motherboard, or a defective battery. You'll need to call Dell to get it replaced.

 

The laptop is working but no battery can be seen. Battery diagnosis wont work, on the latest bios, cant believe its will only last 14 months!?

 

So update from Dell after diagnosis and my battery not recognising it self that is from dell and wont charge. Dell want £93.90 for a dell refurbished battery pack with 3 month of warranty. Or i can get a new one from a partner of dell for £119. Now ive seen the new xps 15 that looks gorgeous.

 

You can also get 3rd party batteries on ebay for much less...
