Hey guys, don't know if any of this even goes on here, I didn't see any kind of exchange or classifieds section so if this is a faux pas then just let me know.
I have a Dell XPS 1330 that had on going display issues and Dell finally replaced it. I was however left with the old unit, the Dell tech had no interest in it. Thing is aside from the display this unit works like gangbusters as a computer. I have been using it now and again for testing release candidate OS and just attach an external monitor. I wouldn't mind getting it out the door so I'd be interested in selling it for parts (or whole, sans battery). If not then if anyone has a working display or knows where to get one I may just replace it myself and get it out the door in one piece.
Anyways it's got 4GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD and Intel integrated graphics. Aside from the aforementioned lack of a battery it's functional as a PC. Any interest in the parts or know where I can score a new display?

I've bought parts from them, fast shipping, never had an issue with them. -
I decided to just rip this thing apart and confirm that Dell service bothered to put the right replacement parts in. It appears they did, I ave the Samsung LED backlit panel and I know from one of the replacements they did a motherboard swap but to no avail. I am wondering if it can't be the cable between the MB and display, I removed it and reseated and fiddled with the cable to see if I could make it change and it did a little bit but hard to say if it was from my fiddling or the displays inherent desire to look buggered.
I did find out that starting the unit without the display cable attached allows it to go external display all the time so that may help, it was a PITA to have to open the lid to switch the display all the time, might just shove this in a closet somewhere and make it a home server.
Thanks for the link though, if I decide to just rip it apart I'll at least know what the parts are worth, not sure if I want to spend $300 to replace the MB if that happens to be it. -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
Just for the record, if you intend to sell anything on NBR, you must use the marketplace and you must fill out the BST form.
