I've got a new power adapter which is 65w. When I plugged it a warning message popped up saying Im using a 65w adapter and my system will operate slower and that my battery will take longer to charge.
The part with the battery taking longer to charge I get but does my system will really work slower ?

I see... you should buy the 90W adapter. the 65W adapter is for the 9400m not for the hybrid sli set up. That's is why the system showed that warning to you.

When working with SLI-optimized applications, theoretically yes. That said, SLI-optimized applications aren't necessarily very common outside of gaming and even then, the 9200M GS doesn't improve the performance originally provided by the 9400M G very much. I'd suggest making Hybrid SLI independent from your power management plan in Windows though (so that you can use "Balanced"/"High Performance" modes without enabling the 9200M GS.

This can happen when the power plug in your laptop is shoddy/broken or the connector end of the adapter is shoddy/broken. Happened to my mom's last Dell: they had to replace the mobo on hers.

Just thought I would bring this up..

    I also have 65w adapter on my Xps 1340 with 2.4ghz p8600 500gb 7200rpm hdd 4gb ram, 9400M G card.

and I also get that message often! You saidd it might be the motherboard, but I my motherboard replaced once before and the message showed up on both motherboards.

I also find it strange that it says my system will operate slower.. why would it since I have since 9400mg

are there any benefits of be buying a 90w from dell? will it show in performance, Im guessing its gona charge faster, but will it also overburn the motherboard since it doesnt need that much wattache?

The laptop will only draw as much wattage as it needs.

Yep, basically. I have the P9600 CPU, 8GB RAM, and the 9500 SLI setup and I use the 65w travel adapter at work. I get the same warning, and I still use my laptop quite heavily (virtual machines mostly). I can still use performance mode, and it still steps to its full speed when needed.
