Is the Dell Studio XPS 1640 equipped with a powered eSATA (eSATAp)?
I always thought it was eSATA only.

I use mine for eSATAp all the time. Dell calls it a eSATA/USB combo port, but it's the same thing as eSATAp.

This is great news, thanks seeker moc. I thought only the 1645 and 1647 had powered eSATA. Now I will go look for an external 2.5" hdd case with the same interface.
