So if I understand correctly, Dell gives you 30 days to try out the computer, and you can return it no questions asked? Can anyone confirm?
-
That's only true for Vostro's. If you buy a Vostro, you can return it within thirty days, Dell pays for return shipping and you don't have to pay any restocking fees.
-
I think you have 3 weeks for other Dell's and you have to pay return shipping, no re-stocking fees though but don't quote me on that, I'm not 100% sure.
-
21 days from the date it was shipped (not the date you receive it) in the US.
No return shipping charge. They send you an RMA label that you print out.
This is for consumer laptops, not business laptops like the Vostro. -
Dell US has a "Total Satisfaction" policy. No questions asked, no restocking fees for the first 21 days.
-
Great. Thanks for all three replies!
So they will refund everything except the tax correct? -
100% refund including tax as far as I know. They can't collect tax on an item that they didn't sell.
-
They refund everything including tax. It takes about 5-7 days to get credited depending on how you paid for it--usually.
It is a pretty easy process, but they do try to talk you out of returning it. -

Wow this is good information to hear. I need to return my m1530 because it has multiple issues and I don't feel safe keeping it since I need it for school. I figured I wouldn't be charged anything since there was so many issues but I have had many talks with the dell reps and they are tricky people.

Yeah. This definitely makes my decision to get a M1330 much easier.
