O dear, what a decision to make, assuming you are looking at the top spec of each!

You do know the i7-10875H is 8 core right?
-
The top spec in the UK at £2500 is 6 core

But, yes, I see why I am unclear! -

Well I am sure they will release an 8 core version of it in the UK eventually. Not that I think the XPS can cool an 8 core anyway...

If it had the 8 core i9 it might take some of the pain from the lack of ports.

I'm curious but when does dell get rid of selling the 7590 on their site based on experience? Example when they went from the 9550 to 9560 and then 9570. Because don't they almost always sell only 1 model? So when they were selling the 9560, you could still buy the 9550? So once they start selling 9570, that means no more 9550 can be bought new?

The 9500 can be charged from either side via USB-C. That is something I'm envious of as a 7590 owner, besides the 16:10 display. The 9500 got rid of the inverted T arrow keys, at a time when Apple moved back to them. The WiFi card is soldered on in the 9500, unlike the 7590. The 9500 has more bandwidth, with an additional TB3 port. Speakers are in a more optimal location. And to be really picky, I've noticed the 9500 got rid of the next and back media keys.

Would be interesting to know how long the 7590 will be available. For those who dont like dongles, its the choice.

Curious but for the dell 9500... if you had a dell pw7015l powerbank, would that work for it? I see on the video, it uses usb-c to charge. I mean it does have a charging port like the xps 15 9550 right?
-
No, the powerbank you state has the barrel style power connector. The 9500 only supports USB-C slow charging.
The USB output would not charge as its 5v only.
The 9500 also supports full speed charging using a non standard charger with a USB-C connector.
For anyone who is confused, the USB-C spec has a maximum 100W output, so dell made a 130W charger with a USB-C plug!
Which begs the question, why doesn't someone make a barrel to USB-C adapter for the older charger!
OMG, they do

I was the opposite - the 130W adapter doesn't work on planes, so I needed an 80W for long haul charging!!!

looks like the review of the i5 version was just posted. I'm amazed at how low the rendering scores are...pretty lame...not much better than an i7 made years ago... Wish they would have went with Ryzen R9 series...

Recently sold off the 7590 - getting a 9500 shortly. I would have been with OP originally, but after seeing reviews, the updates to the 9500 overwhelm. From a power perspective, no real reason to upgrade - although an extra 10-15% frames in games might mean the machine can push a few more recent triple-A to 60FPS at med or high settings. However - that 16:10 screen, better keyboard with bigger keycaps, much improved speaker system, one finger open, massive trackpad (didn't have issues with previous trackpad, but I'll have to try), smaller footprint, dual M.2 slots, and many other subtle updates - just make it too compelling to go with the older design now.
But I guess if you really absolutely hate adapters for USB-C. I just wish Logitech would finally release a Nano Receiver that's USB C compatible for once.kojack likes this. -
I would go 9500. Way to many pros vs. cons.
