It seems like whenever I restart my dell 1330 laptop, it loses it's association with the Dell travel bluetooth mouse that I bought with it.
When I got to the bluetooth control panel after a restart, the mouse no longer appears and I have to re add it. Anyone found a way to avoid needing to do this so often?
Another minor issue is that the dell bluetooth travel mouse does not seem to have any way of using a passkey, which is not as secure as I might like. The only way I've been able to get it working is "no passkey".

Did you install the setpoint?
-
I didn't install anything for the mouse... what is setpoint? Is that on the CD of "Utilities: For installing Dell BT Travel Mouse Utilities on Notebook"? I didn't install anything from there because the CD said the utilities may already be installed if purchased together.
-
You need to install Setpoint which is on the CD that came with the Bluetooth mouse. That's what I did and it automatically connects everytime I start my 1330.

I've had bluetooth issues with my microsoft bt 5000 mouse..
sometimes the bluetooth icon is there, other times its not
when the bluetooth does mess up, it affects my computer's sleep mode/shutdown..they get stuck and don't shutdown/sleep properly
Probably driver issues. I'm waiting for sp1` -
Well, I installed the setpoint software. Interestingly, this is logitech software rebranded to dell, meaning the Dell BT mouse is probably made by logitech.
It gave me a message that because it detected a trackpad it would not install the setpoint as the primary device, but rather would install the setpoint for USB connected mice. Kind of defeats the point since my mouse has no USB connection, but whatever.
Strangely, this seems to have solved the problem... I haven't experienced the sleep problems that I was experiencing, and the BT mouse has been working each time I tested after sleeping, hibernating, and restarting. -
You can even configure mouse buttons now!
-
I was having the same problem as tmorrowus... even with Setpoint installed!
I'm Running 32-bit Vista on my Dell Latitude 630 with the Dell BT travel mouse.
It turns out that there a little box that I unchecked that fixed it. The laptop kept disconnecting the mouse to 'save power'. If you go to Control Panel -> Bluetooth Devices ->Hardware tab -> double click Dell Wireless 360 Bluetooth Module -> Power Management tab -> then uncheck the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save power."
Works fine now... as soon as I turn the mouse on! -
i have a problem with the scroll funtion hardly ever working, i have installed the set point software that the dell BT mouse came with, and that doesnt help. all the other funtions work except the scroll wheel!!!
-
Maybe it's because I have an Inspiron 1525 but I don't have the "Dell 360 Bluetooth" module when I get to the Hardware tab. Neither of the two Bluetooth devices I do have offer a Power Management tab.
I'll continue fishing for an answer to my dilemma. I've already been shipped a new Dell BT travel mouse but at this juncture, I wouldn't recommend it to anybody who just wants to turn on their computer and get work done. I've spent more time fighting with this stupid mouse than anything else, which has soured me to Dell and Bluetooth. <he fishes out his old manual typewriter...> -
If you have a problem with bluetooth icon missing after standby or hibernation and bluetooth doesnt work, here is the solution:
1.Go to "Control Panel"
2.Click on "Bluetooth Devices"
3.Click on "Options"
4.Mark "Turn off the Bluetooth Adapter" square
5.Click on "Apply"
6.Unmark "Turn off the Bluetooth Adapter" square
7.Click on "Apply"
8.Turn off mouse
9.Turn on mouse
10.Wait about 1min and everything should work. -

Seems like this thread has been closed for a while... but if anyone would respond... I wanted to get this mouse, but is it without USB? Cuz I'm going to add it to my SXPS 16

They are talking about the Dell BluetoothTravel Mouse. I have one, that I purchased off ebay. It works great and was really inexpensive. But, I recently picked up a Logitech M555b and I am really liking it. Logitech software gives it some great features. Using it on a Dell XPS 1340. -
I use the MS Wireless 8000 presenter bluetooth mouse and it has been faultless. It connects each time I use it without any issues and has never needed re-pairing. I suggest you ensure you have the latest Dell Bluetooth drivers / Software installed and the latest mouse drivers. When this is installed, unpair / re-pair your mouse and hopefully you should be ok.
Dell Bluetooth mouse on 1330 needs constant rediscovery
