I really do like the Dell hardware and l have been very happy with my Dell Studio XPS 13. I have had it since March 09, but the courier company failed to deliver and then when l eventually received it, it had a cracked screen. I spent a long long time on the telephone with Dell being passed from CS and Tech Support to get them to DOA and replace laptop. Would of taken an engineering visit, but as the laptop was so new, they had no parts. Even when l finally managed to get them to replace it the agent gave me the impression he was doing me a favour.

Just ordered another one for my wife, as we both like the hardware and it has been fantastic. Again l feel Customer Services are not doing a good job. Delivery has failed to occur. After sitting in all morning, for a morning delivery slot, no laptop. I rang CS who asked me to ring the courier company, courier asked me to ring the depot. Apparently adverse weather conditions have suspended deliveries for the last few days. I don't see why l should have to do this. Shouldn't CS be ringing me apologising for the missed delivery and re-scheduling. All my contact details were given during the order process. Especially if no deliveries have been going out of the depot for the last few days.

I have spoken to CS about it, but all they say is that it is not a guranteed delivery and is only an estimate and there is nothing they can do.

Am very disappointed with the lack of service l have received and next time l order l might have to choose another hardware vendor. £1100 for my first laptop and £800 for the second, its not as if l am ordering a Dell Mini. I am ordering there top of the range product and expect a different level of service.

Fingers crossed l might receive it Friday. weather permitting

Going from the responses I got from the courier company (Walsh Western) and Dell, I don't think Dell know your laptop is not getting delivered on the scheduled day.

The courier company should be phoning you to let you know if it's not going to be arriving as it's there responsibilty after they collect it from Dell's factory.

If your laptop was lost in transit then Dell would probably send you another one and make the courier company pay the damages!

Hi, when my XPS M1730 was dispatched from Dell, i contact Walsh Western (automated service) which said there was no scheduled date confirmed. From there it will tell you the available dates which you can choose as Dell do not seem to dispatch with a delivery date. Try this. :)
