I just check Dell's Drivers & Downloads for XPS XPS 15 (L502X), to see if there are updates I should install on my new XPS. I noticed that under the Bios section, Dell has version A06 available for download. But, my system shipped with A07 already installed.

I thought that Dell's site would at least have the latest versions that they are already installing, let alone have newer updates.

It may be that they do extra testing on older configurations before releasing it for download. Or they need to test the BIOS flash tool itself, which they probably don't use in the factory.

Sometimes they don't update the site, especially for older models. Sometimes they remove an newer BIOS flash if they find issues. Tons of reasons why XX driver/BIOS is older than yours or isn't up to date.
