I was usıng my Laptop on Battery on holliday, i decıded to plug in the laptop to keep the battery charge up, as soon as i pluged it in the laptop died and wouldnt turn back on. Strange thing is that the laptop charger green light only comes on when the ac adaptor isnt in the laptop? when the ac is on it goes off. Is this reveseable , is the problem the ac?? Could it be a power serge? but i thought the power is less in europ\turkey then in the UK.
So just to recap, laptop dead when i plugged it in, green light comes on the power supply when its not connected to the laptop, when i connect it it doesnt work?
is there a solution, and could it be caused by the bad electrıcs? should it not be fine workıng in differnt countries(other then uk)?
thanks

Sounds like the power supply has died.
Turkey should have the same supply as the UK (220 V, 50 Hz), with round European fittings on the socket.
It may not be as "clean" as the UKs power, so a spike could have damaged the AC adapter.
The fix should be as simple as contacting dell when you get home to get a replacement AC adapter. -
yh i got a 3 year warrenty on it, its just annoying as i was pklanning to use it over the hol,
is the black box the power supply, or is the supply insıde the laptop? The black box light come on until its pluged into the laptop, so strange and annoying lol
