    Thanks.

There's a reason for the A09 bios. If you want to risk premature failure of your video then downgrade to A08, but Dell released A09 to help prevent video problems.

Is your Laptop able to adequately ventilate? My 1530's fan runs, but very quietly.

Is the new BIOs actually a waste of battery power and cause unnecessary noise if the graphic card inside is actually not defective?

No.. I have been using the new BIOS every since it was released and I still get around 4 to 4.5 hrs out of my 9-cell on average with a decent work load... and what noise are you referring to? the fan? Well if its the fan, thats negative as well.. the fan does not run all the time.. it goes up to higher rpm when temp' hit 65 but quickly brings down the temp to 54-55 and its off... And in any case, the fan is quiet good and its not 'noisy'...

The only issue I have with the "new" bios is that it is a crappy way to cover up the overheating chips. Personally a fan should not have to be running 100% of the time.
